Phleps already has 15 gold medals accumulated in the last two Olympics (Melbourne and Beijing). He also has some silvers but who is counting? Just this makes him a legend on his own time. Makes me proud to be an American.:haha:

I wonder why everyone, you included, seems to loose sight of the real spirit of the modern Olympiads: The important thing is to compete, not to win... Just strive too go higher, longer and faster... everything else will come into focus.

I dislike it intensely to see people brickering about a bunch of pieces of metal... gold or whatever.

Look at the Paralympic Games which will be held right after the Olympiad and using the same venues.... hundreds, if not thousands, of handicapped girls, women, boys and men will be taking part with no other purpose than having fun and a good time... For them, medals are inconsequential. What counts is friendship, sportsmanship and all those little things the rest of us seem to think are not as important as winning a gold medal.

You want to correct me on this? Go ahead. You will never win this one, dude.:haha:

:80:Here we go again.... medals, medals, medals.  Hmmm I could fashion some gold medals for you... out of gold paint sprayed soda pop bottle caps..... hehehehe

Really, as I commented before, medals are not important. The important thing is to COMPETE!

Hey, I am not trying to be nasty. Just saying my own opinions (like you, I am quite opinionated). So dont take it personally, ok? :haha: I love having you on the forum and giving a different perspective to things.... even if they are not about California.

In fact, am planning to create a section for stuff like this so we dont lose the California focus.

Thanks for being with us, nuaeman.  By the way, how about inviting your friends to join us? It would be great if they do.
